the middle of a devastating pandemic has mused repeatedly about slowing down testing so our results don't look so bad, has jokingly referred to Covid as "kung flu", has repeatedly called it a hoax, has repeatedly said it would go way on its own, has refused to wear a mask which when combined with calling it a hoax has created a bunch of militant, anti-mask neanderthals, and he appointed Jared fucking Kushner to head up the PPE procurement and vaccine development team instead of someone with, you know, actual experience in those two areas.

So no, I don't think Trump is actively taking measures to slow down the testing. What a pathetically low standard you hold the president to if you give him kudos for that. But just about EVERYTHING he has done with respect to this pandemic has been dismissive and ineffective at best, and overtly harmful in other cases (particularly around masks and the denial of the seriousness of Covid). But congratulations, the president didn't actually take the unconscionable action of slowing down testing despite talking about doing so repeatedly. You must be so proud of your leader.
